Division/Department: Programme implementation

Reports to: Social Worker / Site Manager

Nature of the position: 12 Months (1-year) Fixed-term contract

Responsibilities:

– Engage Adolescents and Young People (AYP) both in and out of school to participate in core interventions and HIV prevention activities at schools, safe spaces, and satellite areas.
– Deliver talks on HIV, TB, STIs, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and conduct risk assessments.
– Provide HIV Testing Services (HTS) and distribute condoms.
– Ensure AYP receive all five core services.
– Offer information on HIV, TB, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), and GBV.

 

 

– Perform all necessary administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
– Register AYP (aged 15-24) in and out of school.
– Compile weekly and monthly reports.
– Develop and execute peer education programs.
– Foster positive relationships with schools and communities.
– Refer AYP to appropriate services.

Education and/or Experience:

– Possess a Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
– Experience as a peer educator is beneficial.
– Must be a youth residing in the operational area, with evidence required.
– Demonstrates strong leadership abilities.
– Proficient in computer usage.
– Exhibits effective recording and verbal communication skills.
– Age falls within the range of 18 to 30 years.
