Unemployed Youth Agriculture WIL Opportunities 2025
The Department of Agriculture offers opportunities to 30 unemployed rural matriculants and 15 students requiring Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
The appointed Interns will receive a monthly stipend of between R5 345 – R6 312 per month.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be South African citizens residing In the Western Cape.
Applicants must have completed grade 12 In the Western Cape.
Learners currently in grade 12 may apply, but will only be considered if they pass the final examinations.
Applicants from the areas mentioned will receive preference.
Females and persons with a disability are encouraged to apply.
Youth (18–24 years) may apply for the Matric Internships.
Youth (18-35) may apply for the Student Internships.

Applicants must be entering an internship or developmental programme in government for the first time.
The student internships target agriculture students who require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to complete their qualifications.
Preference will be given to applicants from Colleges of Agriculture.
Student intern applications must be accompanied by a letter from the Institution of Higher Learning indicating the required WIL period.
To apply, please complete a Z83 application form and submit a CV with copies of ID, academic results and WIL letter for the student internship. The reference number will be the internship (matric or student) and area applied for.

Nature and Period of Appointment:
Successful applicants for the matric internships will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, in the areas where the positions are based, effective 1 April 2025.
Successful applicants for the student internships will be appointed on a fixed-term contract period as required by the Institution of Higher Learning, effective 1 April 2025.

This initiative is targeted at the following areas:
Thirty (30) unemployed rural youth with matric, from the following rural areas identified:
Cape Winelands District Municipality
Central Karoo District Municipality
Garden Route District Municipality
Overberg District Municipality
West Coast District Municipality
Fifteen (15) students from across the province who require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to complete their qualification in agriculture.
